Description

Overview

Objectives

The objective of this call is to co-finance doctoral and postdoctoral programs, enhancing research training, career development, and mobility for researchers while encouraging sustainable research collaborations.

Activities/actions supported

The funded projects will focus on new or existing doctoral or postdoctoral programs that enhance human resources in research and innovation at various levels. Programmes can cover any research disciplines, with flexibility for researchers to define their topics, and may align with national or regional RIS3 strategies. Projects will emphasise career development, including training and transferable skills. Synergies with Cohesion policy funds and the Recovery and Resilience Facility are strongly encouraged.

Anticipated outcomes

Supported researchers will gain diverse research skills, improved career prospects, interdisciplinary experience, and enhanced networking with peers and the public. Participating organisations will benefit from higher-quality research training, increased global visibility, stronger research capacity, contributions to local socio-economic ecosystems, and the integration of research findings into education, enhancing sustainability and impact.

Overview of eligibility criteria

In order to be eligible, the applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must be legal entities (public or private bodies). Applicants must be established in one of the eligible countries (European Union Member States and their linked OCTs, Horizon Europe Participating Countries, the low- and middle-income countries detailed in Annex B of the Work Programme General Annexes), or be an international European research organisations or consortiums including three independent legal entities as beneficiaries (more information in Annex B of the Work Programme General Annexes). Projects must comply with ethical principles and applicable EU, international and national law.

Overview of award criteria

The award criteria are composed on excellence, impact, and the quality and efficiency of implementation. Overall minimum threshold of 10/15, with a minimum threshold of 3/5 for each criterion.
