Description
Planning and Priorities Coordination Division within the Ministry responsible for EU Funds is the public authority responsible for the implementation of ESF+ in Malta and manages the ESF+ Programme for Malta 2021-2027.
This Programme has a budget of just under EUR 205 million and aims to enhance Malta's socioeconomic well-being by strengthening human capital, boosting skills, and creating opportunities for all, particularly focusing on young people, jobseekers, people with disabilities, migrants, and other vulnerable groups. It seeks to improve national employment, education, health, and social sectors by adapting services to meet emerging needs.
Key activities include enhancing education and training quality, reducing early-school leaving, and addressing skills shortages through innovative methods. The programme will also support jobseekers, promote gender equality, and introduce initiatives to help disadvantaged youth integrate into the job market. Additionally, it will foster social inclusion by supporting vulnerable groups, reducing employment gaps for people with disabilities, and implementing anti-discrimination measures. Overall, more than 114,000 participants are expected to benefit, with significant opportunities in adult learning and educational activities.
