Description
The Ministry of Finance is the public authority responsible for the implementation of ESF+ in Lithuania and manages the 2021-2027 European Union funding investment programme (2021–2027 metų Europos Sąjungos fondų investicijų programa).
This Operational Programme is focused on supporting investments in people and systems in employment, education, social inclusion and health policies. In the field of employment, ESF+ funds will be used to mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on employment and to enable all people of working age to enter the labour market.
This includes investments to adapt to the changing labour market and conditions (e.g. knowledge economy or digitalisation), attracting new pedagogues and developing pedagogy, advancing compulsory education and improving pre-school education.
Target populations include persons in poverty and social exclusion, entrepreneurs and self-employment (especially in groups at greater risk of social exclusion and poverty). Moreover, professional mobility, career planning and counselling tools will be promoted to help adapt to the labour market. In addition, investments will be made in increasing the quality of jobs, and social dialogue.
