Description
The International Labour Organization (ILO), under the Skills Development and Responsible Business Conduct for Transition Project funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, in collaboration with the Institute for Economic and Social Research, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (LPEM FEB UI) conducted a rapid assessment of the reskilling and upskilling needs within the electronics sector. This comprehensive report, based on extensive desk reviews, secondary and primary data analysis (including in-depth interviews with employers and workers), and validation workshops, provides actionable insights for policymakers and stakeholders. The focus is on aligning the sector with Indonesia’s economic and labour market demands while adhering to RBC principles. Specifically, the assessment examines the subsectors of the Manufacturing of Computers, Electronic and Optical Products (KBLI 26) and of Electrical Equipment (KBLI 27).
