Renewable Energy and Jobs: Annual Review 2023

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), produces an annual report on the current employment in the renewable energy sector. It examines various renewable energy technologies on a global and country-specific level, while taking into account a range of public and private sector policies, including those related to deployment, industrial policy, workforce development, and more. Each edition presents the most current data and highlights specific aspects, including employment in the context of energy access, gender equity, and the principles of a fair transition. While skills development is not the focus of the publication, it provides an overview of the technological advancements, employment trends, and recent policy initiatives that inform upskilling and reskilling activities.
