Intra-EU skills-based mobility of adult refugees: Findings of a Cedefop pilot project between Greece and Portugal

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) conducted a pilot project between Portugal and Greece that tested if and how a skills-based intra-EU mobility solution to protection for adult refugees would work. The pilot operated within the framework of Cedefop’s larger project on ‘Complementary pathways for adult refugees: the role of VET, skills and qualifications’. It highlighted that most employers had no prior experience in hiring refugees and lacked basic information on migrants’ right to work. This points to a need to engage employers in national migration and integration strategies. The report covers the overall findings of the pilot, including a subchapter dedicated to findings and recommendations for employers.
