Description

This OECD study measured shifts in employment and skill demand across the EU as a result of the adoption of Fit for 55 policies. It includes separate chapters on the expected employment changes resulting from the Fit for 55 policy targets, the expected changes in skills demands, and the implications of these shifts for VET and education. The most sought-after skills post-implementation of Fit for 55 are expected to involve interpersonal communication and digital technology use, while demand for skills related to traditional tools and technologies is predicted to decline. Preparing for these employment and skill changes, as well as understanding the socio-demographic impact, can aid in planning upskilling, reskilling efforts, and worker reallocation across sectors and jobs.
