OECD Launches Diversity in Tech Call for Innovations and Skills-Based Approaches Survey

In a move aimed at fostering innovation and diversity in the technology sector, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has introduced a "Diversity in Tech Call for Innovations” and “Skills-Based Approaches Survey." This initiative, endorsed by the European Commission's DG for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL), seeks to engage stakeholders across industries and geographical boundaries in a collective effort to promote inclusive skills policies and innovative approaches.

This initiative supports the Talent for Growth Task Force, part of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council, launched in December 2022. The task force aims to share best practices and drive skill development in technology across the European Union and the United States.

Chaired jointly by the European Commission and the US Department of Commerce, the Task Force comprises 12 representatives from governmental bodies, businesses, labour unions, and training support organisations. These experts will collaborate to develop policies that address the dynamic demands of the modern workforce. More information on the EU members can be found here, and on the US members here.

Stakeholders are encouraged to actively participate in the Call and survey, offering their insights and perspectives to enrich this initiative. The Call's deadline for submissions is set for the 17th of September, while the survey will remain open until the 1st of October. Organisations are also encouraged to disseminate the relevant links within their networks to ensure participation.

Your participation is crucial to shape the future of skills development in the technology landscape! Be a part of the Skills-Based Approaches Survey and the Diversity in Tech Call for Innovations by completing the surveys.
