The European Commission has launched the ‘Forward-Looking Projects’ call for proposals.
Pact for Skills members are encouraged to apply for funding for projects that improve the quality and effectiveness of vocational education and training as well as adult learning systems and policies.
With an estimated budget of EUR 16 million, the call includes, among others, the following topics relevant to Pact members’ work:
Topic 2 – Vocational Education and Training (VET): Promote an enabling and supportive environment for vocational excellence at national and/or regional level
This topic aims to foster VET excellence by improving the impact, visibility and cooperation of Erasmus+ Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs).
Applicants should focus on involving public authorities and partners from CoVEs projects and cooperate with the European Training Foundation (ETF) and Cedefop, as relevant.
Topic 3 – Vocational Education and Training: Development of joint VET qualifications and modules
This topic will help address labour shortages in the EU by removing barriers to improve work and study placements abroad (so-called “mobility”). It aims to support the development of joint VET qualifications to make them better recognised across EU countries.
Applicants should develop joint transnational qualifications or modules, test them with teachers and trainers, deploy them in a mobility activity, and certify the learning outcomes of participants’ mobility periods obtained abroad.
Topic 4 – Adult learning: Support to the Pact for Skills
The Pact should contribute to reaching the EU target of 60% of adults participating in training every year by 2030. This topic is only open to partners who are registered members of the Pact for Skills.
Proposals should for example support governance structures, connect Pact members, strengthen cooperation between businesses, address Pact commitments to up- and reskill people and improve skills intelligence.
Topic 5 – Adult learning: Improving career guidance to support adults’ participation in training
To increase the number of adults aged 20–64 in the EU who have access to career guidance and counselling, this topic aims to improve guidance and counselling services to adults. This will help people to make informed choices about up- and reskilling opportunities.
Projects that apply should provide skills assessment services, improve people’s career management skills, and support workers in small and micro-enterprises, helping prevent workers from becoming stuck in a ‘low skills-poor jobs trap’.
