Towards competitive and clean European steel

As part of the Commission’s proposed New Industrial Strategy, this working document focuses on the steel industry, and the policies and tools the EU has in its disposal to support the transformation of the steel industry. This includes funding available, regulatory measures, and ongoing initiatives that support these goals, including the Pact for Skills. Overall, the strategy recognizes that that energy-intensive industries are indispensable to Europe’s economy, and highlights the efforts needed to support the transition towards a zero-carbon steel making process.
