This call aims at supporting excellence in higher education institutons, training digital specialists ofthe future and to increase the capacity of the educational offer in the area of advanced digital skills.

Description

Overview

Objectives

This call should lead to the development of digital educational ecosystems where higher education institutions as well as innovative partners from industry and research work together to attract and retain the talents worldwide.

Activities/actions supported

Proposals must address the design and delivery of:

  • Programmes to build up advanced digital skills in one of the following key digital areas: virtual worlds, edge computing, quantum computing, photonics, robotics and automatization;
  • Interdisciplinary programmes targeting at the acquisition of the advanced green digital skills related to specific technologies learning in the following specific sectors related to the green transition: agriculture, transport, renewable energy, waste management;
  • Interdisciplinary programmes targeting the at the acquisition of advanced digital skills for government and public sector.

Anticipated outcomes

The programme(s) should be offered and taught to students enrolled in all higher education institutions participating in the action. Furthemore:

  • Support (financial or other) should be provided to students in order to take part in the programme(s) or in job placements/internships (relevant if objective 2 is addressed);
  • Technical equipment/digital tools should be upgraded for the delivery of the programme(s) and self-standing module(s) (relevant if objective 3 is addressed);
  • Structural partnerships should be established among the members of the consortium (relevant if objective 4 is addressed);
  • A sustainability strategy should be developed and agreed by the consortium for enabling the continuity of the programme(s) and self-standing module(s) after the funded project’s lifetime (relevant for all proposals);
  • The programme(s) and self-standing module(s) are promoted (via communication and dissemination activities) and information is available on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (relevant for all proposals). KPIs to measure outcomes and deliverables.

The KPIs to measure outcomes and deliverables should be provided by the consortium depending on their chosen coverage of objectives of this topic. KPIs should address the proposal’s covered points under the ‘Scope’ section. Priority will be given to consortia who provide realistic, relevant, qualitative and quantitative KPIs that best reflect the proposal’s main outcomes and deliverables.

Overview of eligibility criteria

To be eligible, applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must be legal entities (public or private bodies) established in one of the eligible countries (i.e.EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs); non-EU countries; listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Digital Europe Programme)

Other entities may participate in other consortium roles, such as associated partners, subcontractors, third parties giving in-kind contributions, etc.

Overview of award criteria

Award criteria include: relevance, implementation, and impact, with a minimum score of 3 foreseen under each section,and a maximum of 5.

Application procedures

All proposals must be submitted directly online via the Funding & Tenders Portal Electronic Submission System. Submission is a 2-step process:

a) create a user account and register your organisation

b) submit the proposal.

The submission of the proposal is in 3 parts, as follows:

  • Part A includes administrative information about the applicant organisations (future coordinator, beneficiaries, affiliated entities and associated partners)
  • and the summarised budget for the proposal. Fill it in directly online
  • Part B (description of the action) covers the technical content of the proposal. Download the mandatory word template from the Submission System, fill it in and upload it as a PDF file
