Description

Overview

Objectives

The project aims to strengthen local communities' resilience against crime and radicalization, fostering a safer environment with improved law enforcement and reduced insecurity. It emphasizes early identification of negative factors and threats, along with enhanced crime reporting mechanisms. It seeks to develop new methodologies, tools, and technological support for community policing and create specialised training curricula for police authorities to navigate complex social milieus and balance majority and minority needs effectively.

Activities/actions supported

This call supports the development of new training curricula for police authorities on community policing that incorporates cutting edge approaches to community policing and consideration to social complexities and non-homogenous local environments. The call also supports the development of new methodologies, tools and technical support, the identification and dissemination of best practices, and the exploration of alternatives to incarceration.

Anticipated outcomes

The findings from this call should contribute to the development of a comprehensive community policing model, disseminate best practices across the EU, and develop updated training curricula for police authorities.

Conditions

Overview of eligibility criteria

To be eligible, applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must be legal entities (public or private bodies) established in one of the eligible countries, listed in Annex B of the Work Programme General Annexes.

Overview of award criteria

The award criteria are the following:

  • Excellence (5 points)
  • Impact (5 points)
  • Quality and efficiency of the implementation (5 points)

Maximum points: 15 points. Overall threshold: 10 points.
