Description
The Just Transition Fund is implemented in Austria as a separate priority under the "IBW-EFRE/JTF 2021-2027" programme and the "ESF+ Programme Employment & JTF Austria 2021-2027". The focus is put on on economic diversification and modernisation as well as retraining and active inclusion of employees affected by the digital and green transitions. Investments in the areas of digital connectivity, green energy technology, emissions reduction, rehabilitation of industrial sites, retraining of workers and technical assistance are supported. Austria also receives JTF funding for investments in individual districts in Upper and Lower Austria, Styria and Carinthia (Ober- und Niederösterreich, der Steiermark und Kärnten).
The Österreichische Raumordnungskonferenz (Austrian Spatial Planning Conference) manages the IBW-EFRE/JTF 2021-2027 programme, while the Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Wirtschaft, Sektion III/A/9 (Federal Ministry of Labour and Economic Affairs, Section III/A/9) manages the ESF+ Programme Employment & JTF Austria 2021-2027.
