Description

The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission s the public authority responsible for the implementation of ESF in the Algarve region in Portugal and manages the Regional Operational Programme Alentejo 2014-2019. The Operational Programme promotes the competitiveness of the regional economy and the region's sustainable development and internal cohesion, as well as the region's contribution to the achievement of the key EU and national development goals:

  • 35% of the resources are allocated to supporting the competitiveness of and innovation in SMEs
  • More than 6 % aim to boost research and technical development (RTD) and innovation
  • Around 7.5% are dedicated to promoting employment and enhancement of endogenous resources
  • More than 12% are dedicated to promoting education and qualification
  • Almost 15% support the shift towards a low-carbon economy (investments in energy efficiency and sustainable mobility)

Please note that this Operational Programme refers to the programming period 2014-2020, as the as the Operational Programme for 2021-2027 is not yet available.
