Description
The Government's Departement of Work and Social Economy is the public authority responsible for the implementation of ESF in the Flanders/Vlaams Gewest region in Belgium through the Operational Programme under the "investment for growth and jobs" objective (OPERATIONEEL PROGRAMMA VOOR DE DOELSTELLING "INVESTEREN IN GROEI EN WERKGELEGENHEID").
The Operational Programme supports initiatives that increase employment and improve social cohesion in Flanders. The axes are the following:
- Investing in sustainable and qualitative jobs on the Flemish labour market (1st priority) and investing in vocational training and lifelong learning (2nd priority). Flemish ESF-funded projects will focus on key transition moments in careers, such as the transition from school to work, from unemployment to work, between jobs.
- Supporting social integration and equality and to combat poverty (3rd priority). The focus is placed on pathways to integration for the most vulnerable groups on the labour market.
- Structural measures on company level (4th priority), which encourage people to work longer. ESF funded projects will assist companies in creating an attractive working environment for their employees.
Please note that this Operational Programme refers to the programming period 2014-2020, as the as the Operational Programme for 2021-2027 is not yet available.
