Description

The Planning and Priorities Coordination Division (PPCD) of the Ministry for European Affairs is the public authority responsible for the implementation of ERDF in Malta. It manages the Fostering a competitive and sustainable economy to meet our challenges Operational Programme which aims to foster the economic growth in Malta and contribute to achieving the Europe 2020 targets for smart sustainable and inclusive growth. The main priorities of the programme are: 1. Strengthening research and innovation; 2. Enhancing ICT; 3. SME competitiveness; 4. Shifting towards a low-carbon economy; 5. Preserving the environment; 6. Promoting sustainable transport; 7. Promoting social inclusion; and 8. Investing in education, training and vocational training. The final priority is most relevant to reskilling and upskilling activities.

Please note that this Operational Programme refers to the programming period 2014-2020, as the as the Operational Programme for 2021-2027 is not yet available.
