Description

Overview

Objectives

This action aims to create teacher education networks and communities to improve teacher education policies and practices, develop models of mobility for teacher development, promote collaboration between teacher education providers, and enhance the European dimension of teacher education.

Activities/actions supported

Activities to implement include the establishment of networks and international communities of practice between relevant teaching actors, delivery of learning modules addressing teacher competence needs, development of joint learning mobility activities with a strong European dimension, removal of obstacles to mobility, involement of training schools to share innovative new ways of teaching, production of studies to inform policy, and promotion of existing Erasmus+ tools.

Anticipated outcomes

The Academies are expected improve the attractiveness of the teaching profession, ensure high-quality initial education and continuous professional development, enhance the European dimension and internationalisation of teacher education, make mobility an integral part of teacher education provision, create structural partnerships and joint programmes between institutions, and ensure lasting impact of these initiatives also at the policy level.

Overview of eligibility criteria

Applicants must be legal entities established in one of the eligible countries, and the coordinating organisation must be a Teacher Education Institution (it cannot be an affiliated entity) applying on behalf of all participating organisations involved in the project. Other entities may participate in other consortium roles, such as associated partners, but organisations established in third countries not associated to the Programme cannot participate in the action.

Overview of award criteria

The award criteria are composed of relevance (max 35 points), quality of project design and implementation (max 25 points), quality of partnership and cooperation arrangements (max 20 points) and impact (max 20 points).
