Description

Overview

Objectives

As cyber-attacks, like ransomware and distributed denial of service, grow more sophisticated, law enforcement must adopt comprehensive strategies to understand the various elements contributing to these attacks. Given the cross-border nature of cybercrimes, cooperative, joint actions are necessary, and traditional single-force investigations may not be sufficient. To address this complexity, cutting-edge investigative approaches, secure information sharing mechanisms, and enhanced reporting mechanisms for cyber-dependent criminal activities are vital.

Activities/actions supported

The most relevant activity supported under this call is the development of training curricula for Police Authorities, prosecutors and judicial actors on major contemporary cybercriminal activities. It additionally supports the development of a modular toolbox, the detection of cybercrimes perpetuated using cryptocurrencies, and the development of multistakeholder strategies.

Anticipated outcomes

The project aims to contribute to the strengthening of Policy Authority responses to cybercrime and increase the protection of citizens from the advancing forms of cybercrime.
