Overview
Objectives
Student participation in interdisciplinary research project involving skills in biology, AI and bio-informatics, by identifying specificlly required input from each main scientific area to come up with innovative solutions in the health field.
Activities/actions supported
Granting and paying funds for the traineeship period of students enrolled in Master 2 « Biology & Health », study-track « Biomarkers and AI » at the Faculty of Medical & Paramedical Sciences.
Anticipated outcomes
A complete understanding on how AI is used in biomedical and healthcare research; a better identification, a controlled development and validation of biomarkers used for prevention, diagnosis or monitoring diseases; a more appropriate use of Information Technology tools and methods to analyse the data to exploit the full potential of large datasets from medical and biological research; the latest AI operating techniques, such as machine learning and deep learning, to propose innovative solution in personalised medicine.

Overview of eligibility criteria
Students enrolled in Master 2 « Biology & Health », study-track « Biomarkers and AI » at the Faculty of Medical & Paramedical Sciences. Participants must be EU citizens with a European nationality to be eligible for European funding under the project "Advanced Digital Skills AI and Health".
Overview of award criteria
Award criteria include the following:
- The thematic subject of the internship should be perfectly in line with the objective of the Master (3/5 points);
- The great potential for publication in connection with the results achieved during the internship (1/5 points);
- Acquisition of new digital and technical skills (1/5 points).
