Health & Safety Blueprint

After observing the deficiencies on health & safety training that had an impact on the EU Construction sector, the European Commission in cooperation with the European Innovation Council and Small & Medium-sized Enterprises Executive Agency (EISMEA) decided to develop a strategic framework for the improvement of training in Health and Safety in Construction-Health and Safety Construction Blueprint.

This project was an indispensable complement to the “Strategic Approach on professional skills in the Construction industry” led by the Construction Blueprint project.

The Health and Safety Blueprint project aimed at addressing the training gap on health and safety regarding energy efficiency and sustainable materials. The project was developed through the collaboration of the construction stakeholders from the twelve countries involved in the Construction Blueprint (Germany, Belgium, Slovenia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal), led by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción.

To address this training gap the project has developed a set of useful modules that will help you navigate health & safety issues related to the most common materials and operations, without forgetting other higher risk or less known topics.

With this in mind, a total of 8 modules were created, distributed under 3 main sections:

Section 1: Materials

  • Insulation and Sealing materials.
  • Finishing materials.
  • Bituminous materials.
  • Sustainable materials.

Section 2: Operations

  • Insulation operations.
  • Inverted Green Roofs.
  • Renewable Energy Systems.

Section 3: Waste

  • Waste management.
