Tourist skills

This research study explores the importance of skills in tourism as a practice. Focusing on train and canal boating tourism in the UK, the paper covers both the specialist and commonplace skills needed to ensure tourism practices are effortless and enjoyable to tourists. The paper argues that any tourism practice requires a collection of skills that work together to facilitate tourism practices and this collection of skills can be applied to different areas in the tourism industry.
