Description

The Government of Ireland commissioned this report in order to quantify the construction skills necessary to achieve 2030 housing and retrofitting targets. It covers construction skills at every qualification level of the Irish National Framework of Qualifications, within the context of changing building practices and the Government’s Housing for All plan of action . It provides skill need projections for the skills needed to build new houses, retrofit existing homes, and provide general repair and maintenance of housing. The authors also consider the annual supply of workers in order to assess the degree to which existing education and VET systems need to adapt to address potential skills gaps.
