Description

The work of physiotherapists places them in a relatively unique position to identify signs of abuse. The Online Professional Education for Physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals on Domestic Violence (OPEP-DV) project targets the skills gap in providing support for domestic violence victims within the physiotherapy space. Based on a literature review and an online survey in partner countries (Cyprus, Estonia, Greece and Spain), OPEP-DV developed a guide for professionals to identify and support victims of domestic violence. This guide serves as both a training and reference resource to enhance quality of patient care through education and fine-tuned responses to victims across the EU. More resources and tools developed in the context of OPEP-DV can be found on the project website here.
