Description

As the agri-food sector plays a pivotal role in and is particularly impacted by the green transition, significant attention has been given to how to best prepare the sector for these future changes. Innovative farming approaches, new regulations, shifting consumer needs, and more circular business models will require new skills to be developed within the workforce. This policy brief by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) presents the findings from a skills foresight study and explores how vocational education and training can best support the sector. The brief begins with a background on the most relevant policies across the EU, then dives into future skills needs, key demographics that should be targeted by upskilling and reskilling, and recommendations for future activities.
