In order to develop a blueprint for sectoral cooperation in the steel sector, the Commission initiated this study to understand the skills availability and needs in the sector’s workforce. It then provides recommended actions to develop these skills.

Description

Through this study, the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises presents a comprehensive description of current skills needs amongst the steel sector’s workforce. It also provides an overview of the national education and training systems in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain. The publication includes two implementation roadmaps, one on building the necessary skills for the steel industry, and another for establishing EU education and training on the relevant skills.
