Description

This research paper presents how learning, motivation and engagement in tourism education can be deepened by combining learning by doing and team coaching approaches. The study presents the experience of 42 students in an undergraduate tourism course in a small town in Spain following this approach. Students in the study especially appreciated the ability to work within professional realities and collaborate with classmates. Professors and agents from public institutions felt the students outputs were highly applicable and close to reality, highlighting the real-world skills gained through learning by doing and team coaching approaches.
