Description
This research paper reviews apprenticeships in vehicle maintenance and repair provided in Germany, the UK and Spain. The paper explores how the apprenticeships are provided and organised in each country, comparing both the burden on employers as well as how well skills were developed amongst apprentices. Based on this analysis, the paper recommends funding models and educational requirements that may be most beneficial for both skills development and reducing the burden on employers. Although the paper focuses on vehicle maintenance and repair specifically, its findings may be relevant to other multi-skilled occupations.
