Description

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) published a collection of papers from its community of experts on apprenticeships. The publication is divided between two broad categories: I. Apprenticeship governance in relation to cooperation between labour market and VET actors; and II. Apprenticeship in-company training design and delivery. Each paper focuses on the case in a specific EU country in order to provide an in-depth view into the variation and specificities across regions and contexts. The collective findings are presented at the beginning of each section, highlighting overarching trends in apprenticeships across the EU. One of the main factors identified is a general shift from increasing the number of apprenticeships towards increasing the quality and effectiveness of existing apprenticeships.
