Ambition
The Textile and Clothing Regional Skills Partnership for the Valencian Community (part of the TCLF Skills Alliance) aims to position the Spanish region as a European benchmark for sustainable, innovative and competitive textile and clothing manufacturing, aligned with the green and digital transitions, supporting industrial renewal and fostering inclusive growth.
The partnership’s long-term objectives are to:
- close the skills gap in sustainability, digitalisation, smart textiles and advanced manufacturing;
- foster lifelong learning and reskilling, ensuring the existing workforce transitions smoothly to new production models;
- attract young talent through modernised training, dual VET programmes and closer industry-education collaboration;
- reinforce SMEs’ resilience and competitiveness by supporting capacity-building and knowledge transfer;
- contribute to EU Digital Decade targets, the Green Deal and circular economy transition.
Commitments
The Partnership has three strategic priorities:
- Develop training programmes to support the textile sector’s green and digital transition, including reskilling modules, dual vocational training and circular economy, eco-design, digitalisation and smart manufacturing courses.
- Create a regional framework for skills intelligence, monitor skills gaps/anticipate labour market needs and promote knowledge exchange through workshops and roundtables.
- Strengthen talent attraction and retention through outreach, career guidance and school-industry collaboration.
Impact
These commitments will be measured with key performance indicators, targeting:
- gain 7 new members by 2028;
- deliver 3 pilot training modules of 20-40 hours;
- involve 30-45 learners in pilots;
- submit 1 new funding proposal;
- create 1 outreach campaign to improve the visibility and image of the textile sector;
- organise 1 student challenge/hackathon event focused on sustainable and digital textile solutions with 200 participants;
- organise 5 events and ongoing communities of practice;
- develop 3 new training programme modules to train 45 participants.
