The Pact for Skills is pleased to announce the creation of the large-scale skills partnership for the health industry.

Backed by the European Commission, stakeholders from the healthcare sector, including pharmaceutical companies and universities, came together to forge a large-scale skills partnership in health. The partnership aims to increase opportunities for training across Europe and enhance the EU's industrial and social prosperity.

Background

The health sector is facing a skills gap driven by an ageing population and an increase in demand for healthcare.

Against this backdrop the partnership aims to create a model for skills development, address the green and digital transitions and share knowledge, resources and experiences to promote learning and up/re skilling.

Skills needs to be addressed include:

  • adaptation to technological advancements
  • regulatory compliance
  • quality assurance
  • supply chain, stockpiling and distribution management

The health partnership will focus on improving the sector’s skills intelligence and monitoring new training programmes aligned with the industry's skills requirements. It will also help to draft a skills strategy for the European health industry.

Take a look at the partnership manifesto and the list of signatories.
